Beginning on the West Coast Trail, Vancouver Island, Jim Holyoak and Matt Shane spent eight days trekking to collect sketches, photos and notes, with which to provoke their imaginations for an immersive, collaborative drawing that covered the walls at Open Space (Victoria, British Columbia). This process-based exhibition transformed the gallery into a realm of flux and metamorphosis, mapping a shared world at the borderlands of human interruption and untempered wilderness.’
